Algeria Hosts 13th Meeting of Defense Ministers Council and 14th Chiefs of Staff Committee of NARC (MDN)

Algeria hosted, on Thursday, the work of the 13th meeting of the Defense Ministers Council and the 14th meeting of the Chiefs-of-Staff Committee of the armies of the member countries of the North Africa Regional Capability (NARC), the Algerian Ministry of National Defense (MDN) said in a statement.
The statement says that on 27 November 2025 at the National Army Circle in Beni Messous, Algeria hosted the 13th meeting of the Defense Ministers Council and the 14th meeting of the Chiefs-of-Staff Committee of armed forces from the NARC member countries: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
Participants included Major General Benbicha Mohamed Salah, Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Defense, representing the Minister of National Defense, and Major General Hassnat Belkacem, Head of the Employment and Preparation Department of the General Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), representing the Chief of Staff of the ANP; a representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the national community abroad and African Affairs; representatives of the Defense ministers and chiefs of staff from NARC member countries; as well as Mr. Ahmed Ahmida El-Tajouri, Executive Secretary of NARC, and Major General Mohamed Ghoma Al-Shibani, head of the planning element of this regional mechanism.
The agenda of the meetings covered “the evaluation of NARC’s 2025 activities, and review of the means and mechanisms for developing its components, in order to strengthen coordination among member countries in face of threats to regional security and stability”.
The sessions concluded with the signing of the final report of the 13th Defense Ministers Council meeting and the 14th Chiefs-of-Staff Committee meeting of NARC member countries.
