Arab Information Ministers Pledge Continued Support for Palestinian Cause

The Council of Arab Information Ministers stressed on Wednesday in Cairo the need to continue supporting the Palestinian cause in all its political, humanitarian, and legal dimensions, foremost among which is the issue of occupied Al-Quds.

At the conclusion of its 55th ordinary session, the Council urged Arab media to “continue its coverage of current developments in light of the ongoing violations by the Zionist entity of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the grave violations in the West Bank,” strongly condemning the Zionist entity’s army targeting of Palestinian journalists in “flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law.” The Council adopted the Arab Strategy for Media and Information Education and the Unified Arab Plan for Addressing Environmental Issues and Sustainable Development, in line with Arab Vision 2045 adopted at the 34th Arab Summit held in Baghdad in May 2025.

Regarding the Arab media action plan abroad, the Council emphasized the “urgent need” for coordinated and integrated implementation of the plan’s mechanisms and components, starting with providing media support for the Palestinian cause, countering the Zionist narrative, and addressing the phenomenon of extremism and terrorism.

On the sidelines of the session, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, honored the Minister of Information and General Supervisor of the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation, Ahmed Najib Assaf, in a gesture of solidarity with Palestinian media, in light of the violations it faces under the Zionist occupation.
