The 28th Algiers International Book Fair (SILA) officially opened Wednesday at the Exhibition Palace, in Algiers, organized under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, with Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb chairing the opening.
The opening took place in the presence of members of the government and senior state officials and representatives from several national institutions and bodies.
Running from October 29 to November 8, the fair’s theme is “The Book: A Crossroads of Cultures.” It features 1,254 publishers from 49 countries, including 290 Algerian publishers, showcasing over 240,000 book titles.
The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is this year’s guest of honor.
