Russia Prioritizes Domestic Defense Industry Over Trump’s Remarks on US Military Power — Kremlin

Russia is fully focused on strengthening its military and defense industry, viewing it as a top national priority regardless of statements made by US President Donald Trump about America’s military power, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

“We are focused on our military development and the development of our military-industrial complex. This is the most important thing for us,” Peskov stated, emphasizing that Russia’s defense progress is guided by its own strategic goals and security needs, not by external rhetoric.

Commenting on other international issues, Peskov said that all matters related to Venezuela must proceed strictly in line with international law, clarifying that the Venezuelan situation was not discussed during Moscow’s recent contacts with Washington. He also underlined the importance of the October 9 meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Dushanbe, and reiterated that Russia welcomes any steps aimed at resolving tensions between North and South Korea.
