Algeria participates in ministerial meeting of G20 Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group

The Algerian Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Said Sayoud, participated on Monday in the ministerial meeting of the G20 Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group in Cape Town, South Africa, according to the ministry.
As part of the activities of the G20 Working Group on Disaster Risk Reduction held in Cape Town, South Africa, Sayoud attended the ministerial meeting on Monday morning.
The meeting included representatives from the governments of participating countries and international organizations.
This high-level ministerial meeting coincides with the commemoration of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction and serves as the culmination of technical meetings and side events held since October 8.
These events involved member states, five invited countries, and international and regional organizations.
The statement emphasized that the meeting will lead to the adoption of the G20 Ministerial Declaration on Disaster Risk Reduction, which will review the group’s outcomes and priorities in enhancing resilience, improving early warning systems, and supporting investment in risk reduction through international cooperation.
Algeria marks its first participation in this significant international forum as an invited country within the G20 activities, reaffirming its commitment to fostering international cooperation in disaster management and climate change adaptation.
