Spain forward Dani Olmo has been ruled out of the European champions’ upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria, the Spanish football federation (RFEF) said on Friday.
La Roja are expected to be title contenders for a second World Cup crown, but De la Fuente wants his players to focus on the job at hand.
“I’m not worried about anything. First, let’s qualify. And then we’ll think about it (winning the World Cup),” he said.
“We have to take the drama out of defeats and results. Being a champion is very difficult.”
Spain lead their qualifying group by three points from Georgia and Turkey, after opening their campaign with crushing 6-0 and 3-0 away wins over the Turks and Bulgaria respectively last month.
