U.S. to Provide Ukraine with Intelligence for Long-Range Strikes on Russia’s Energy Infrastructure

The United States will supply Ukraine with intelligence to support long-range missile strikes against Russia’s energy infrastructure, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing U.S. officials. According to the report, President Donald Trump has authorized intelligence agencies and the Pentagon to assist Kyiv in targeting oil refineries, pipelines, power plants, and other critical facilities, with the aim of weakening the Kremlin’s oil revenues.

While Washington has shared intelligence with Ukraine throughout the war, this new step marks an escalation, enabling Kyiv to strike deeper into Russian territory. U.S. officials are also pressing NATO allies to provide similar intelligence-sharing support. The report noted that Trump’s decision comes as his attempts to advance peace talks have stalled, signaling a shift toward stronger military backing for Kyiv.

Officials said the authorization was approved shortly before Trump announced on social media that Ukraine has the capability to retake all territories occupied by Russia. This move underscores a dual strategy from Washington: sustaining Kyiv’s military efforts while keeping pressure on Moscow through economic and energy vulnerabilities.
