Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, participated on Monday in the high-level plenary session of the United Nations General Assembly held in New York to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
A statement from the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that this participation comes as part of his representation of Algeria in the high-level segment of the United Nations General Assembly.
This high-level session provided an opportunity to review the achievements of the United Nations over the past eight decades, particularly in the areas of peace and security, development, and human rights. It also served as a platform to highlight the growing global challenges and to renew the commitment to the principles and purposes of the UN Charter, in pursuit of a more inclusive and effective multilateral system, the statement said.
