Algerian Minister of Health Receives Ambassador of China to Algeria

The Algerian Minister of Health, Mohamed Esseddik Ait Messaoudène, received, at the headquarters of the ministry, the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Algeria, Dong Guangli, with whom he examined ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the health sector, the ministry said Wednesday in a press release.
During this meeting, held Tuesday in the presence of central administration executives, the two parties hailed “the exceptional level of cooperation” between Algeria and China, emphasizing “the depth of historical relations dating back to the sixties, and which were embodied through several marked stages, such as medical and scientific missions, which have contributed to strengthening the national health system,” added the press release.
The two parties also highlighted the importance of strengthening and expanding this cooperation through a new memorandum of understanding, capable of opening broader perspectives for future partnership.
Ait Messaoudène underscored that the People’s Republic of China is “a strategic partner of Algeria,” noting that it is necessary “to expand the fields of health cooperation, notably through the implementation of joint investment projects and strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships, capable of ensuring the transfer of technologies and the exchange of expertise and knowledge between the two parties.”
At the end of the meeting, the Chinese ambassador proposed “the organization of training sessions and scientific meetings, aimed at transferring successful experiences and exchanging expertise,” a proposal favorably received by the minister, who affirmed “the disposition of the health sector to accompany such initiatives in the service of the patient and the development of the Algerian health system.”
