The Algerian President: The Israeli occupation sees no path to achieving its peace except by plunging the region into an endless cycle of destruction

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said on Monday that Algeria stands “sincere and loyal” alongside the State of Qatar, expressing “full support” for any measures Qatar deems necessary to safeguard its sovereignty, protect the integrity of its territory, and ensure the safety of its citizens.

In a message to the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha, delivered by Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf on behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Algerian President emphasized that the “blatant Israeli aggression” against Qatar is an attack on the entire Arab and Islamic nations, describing it as “an assault on their security and stability, a violation of their sanctity and rights, and an affront to all the values and principles they uphold—values shared by all of humanity.”

“The gravity of the current situation in the Middle East far exceeds what any specific words or expressions can fully capture. There is no doubt that we are facing a critical and decisive historical phase—a phase in which accurately identifying the dangers and threats before us is not beyond reach,” President Tebboune said.

The Algerian President noted that “it has become clear to everyone that the Israeli occupation recognizes no limits to its domination, oppression, and tyranny, nor does it acknowledge any ceiling to its systematic violations of international law and the UN Charter, or even the most basic principles of civilized and peaceful coexistence.”

“It has become clear to everyone that the Israeli occupation cannot envision its own security except at the expense of others’ security, nor can it comprehend its stability except through the fragmentation of others’ stability. It sees no path to achieving its peace except by plunging the entire region into an endless cycle of violence, devastation, and destruction,” he said, adding that the Israeli occupation, with its aggressive policies and criminal practices, has become the greatest threat to peace and security both regionally and internationally.

“How could it be otherwise, when alongside its ongoing extermination of the Palestinian people in Gaza, this occupation has not hesitated—since the beginning of this year—to attack and violate the sovereignty of five countries in the region: Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and now Qatar. How could it be otherwise, when every time there appears a prospect of ending its aggression against Gaza, its response is escalation, exaggeration, and opening one front after another. How could it be otherwise, when it threatens to redraw all the borders in the region following the revival of the myth of a “Greater Israel,” he added.

The Algerian President recalled that two days ago, the Security Council convened at Algeria’s request, with the support of numerous nations, to address the Israeli aggression against Qatar. “The meeting demonstrated remarkable solidarity and widespread sympathy for the State of Qatar from all member states.”

“The international community is no longer faint-voiced, weak-willed, or hesitant in responding to the Israeli occupation. Rather, the vast majority is convinced that there is no escape from deterrence and punishment for those who consider themselves exceptions to all rules, laws, and regulations that others abide by,” President Tebboune said, adding, “Let our decisions be aligned with this context, and let us move forward united and in a single front to translate the growing international awareness into firm measures to curb the arrogance of the occupier, to do justice to the countries and peoples of the region, and to expedite addressing the core and essence of the entire conflict.”
