Algerian Land Forces Commander Receives AFRICOM Special Operations Commander

The Algerian Commander of the Land Forces, Lieutenant General Mostefa Smaali, received on Sunday U.S. Commander of Special Operations Command Africa Major General Claude K. Tudor, the Ministry of Algerian Defense (MDN) said in a statement.
“Lieutenant General Mostefa Smaali, Commander of the Land Forces, today, September 14, 2025, at the headquarters of the Land Forces Command, received Major General Claude K. Tudor, Commander of AFRICOM Special Operations, who was accompanied by a high-level delegation and the United States Ambassador to Algeria, Elizabeth Moore Aubin,” the statement noted.
On this occasion, “the two parties held bilateral discussions on issues of common interest, in the presence of senior officers and members of the US delegation.” The two sides also “praised the excellent bilateral relations as well as the consultation and cooperation mechanisms established between the two countries,” the same source stressed.
At the end of the meeting, the Commander of AFRICOM Special Operations signed the guest book of the Land Forces Command.
