Sudan: Hundreds Dead in Landslide in Darfur (Sovereign Council)

The Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan announced on Tuesday that hundreds of individuals have lost their lives following heavy rains that triggered a landslide on Mount Marra in Central Darfur State (southwest).
“The President and members of the Council express their profound sorrow for the victims of the landslide at Jebel Marra, which claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent citizens due to the intense rains that affected the region,” the statement read.
“The Council extends its condolences to the families of the victims and is committed to mobilizing all available resources to support and assist those impacted by this disaster,” the statement concluded.
