
ALGEIRS – The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Arkab, received at the ministry’s headquarters on Monday, Algeria researcher Abderrahmane Abene, the inventor of the solar suitcase, a compact and portable device that generates clean energy, the ministry said in a statement.
At a meeting attended by Karima Tafer, the Secretary of State for Mines, Abene gave a detailed presentation on his invention, which consists of a smart suitcase equipped with micro solar panels that can be used to charge various electronic devices and provide power in areas without electricity.
Praising the invention, Arkab said that in line with the guidelines of the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, his department attaches particular importance to promoting national skills and supporting innovative researchers to help them transform their ideas into concrete projects that can strengthen national energy security and contribute to the diversification of energy sources.
Innovation in the field of clean energy is fully consistent with the national strategy for developing electricity production capacity from renewable sources, according to the minister of State.
He said that such projects, reflecting the creativity of Algerian young people, are meant to support the sustainable energy transition process
At the end of the meeting, Arkab reiterated his sector’s commitment to providing support to national skills and connecting them with specialized institutions and bodies that can help them bring their inventions to life for the benefit of citizens.
