Russia, South Africa Vow to Expand Comprehensive Strategic Ties

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa expressed commitment to further develop a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, Tass news agency reported on Monday, citing the Kremlin press service.
“The mutual commitment to further development of a comprehensive strategic Russian-South African partnership, close cooperation between the two countries on international platforms was confirmed,” the Russian side stated.
During the phone talks, the two presidents discussed the results of the Russia-US summit in Alaska on August 15.
On Sunday, Putin held phone calls with the presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to discuss the results of Friday’s summit.
According to Interfax news agency, the Russian President will continue to inform foreign partners about the outcome of the Alaska summit.
