Palestine Calls for Immediate Extraordinary Session of the Arab League Council

On Friday, Palestine called for the immediate convening of an extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives in response to the escalating genocidal aggressions by Zionist forces against the Gaza Strip.
The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the League of Arab States, Muhannad Al-Aklouk, stated, as reported by the Palestinian news agency Wafa, that this request arises amid the ongoing acts of aggression, genocide, and ethnic cleansing being perpetrated by Zionist occupation forces against the Palestinian people for the past 671 days.
This initiative aims to discuss strategies for action at both the Arab and international levels to prevent the continuation of these crimes and to ensure that their perpetrators are held accountable before international justice bodies.
Al-Aklouk stressed the importance of this meeting resulting in a decisive call for effective measures at both the Arab and international levels to put an end to these crimes and to bring the offenders before international courts.
Furthermore, the Palestinian diplomat pointed out that this request is motivated by the recent Zionist decision to fully reoccupy the Gaza Strip, which would lead to the forced displacement of Palestinians, both internally and externally. This situation threatens to exacerbate famine, intensify the destruction of refugee camps, expand colonial activities, and increase violence from extremist settlers in the occupied West Bank against Palestinians and their properties.
