ALGIERS – General Saïd Chanegriha, the deputy minister to the Algerian minister of National Defense, chief of staff of the Algerian People’s National Army (PNA), carried out on Wednesday, a visit to the Military Academy of Cherchell “late President Houari Boumediene,” on the eve of the annual graduation ceremony of promotions that this prestigious training institution will host, the ministry of national defense said in a press release.
After the welcome ceremony, the General chaired, in the presence of the commander of the Land Forces, the commander of the 1st Military Region and the Commander of the Military Academy of Cherchell, an orientation meeting with the officials, teachers and students of the Academy.
In this respect, he delivered an address during which he extended “his congratulations to the officers of the graduating promotions by exhorting them, as well as all Algerian youth, to return to the values of the glorious November Revolution, by keeping them present in mind and implementing them on the ground.”
“The construction of a strong and impregnable Algeria, capable of meeting challenges and stakes, requires all of us to return to the principles of the glorious November Revolution which constitutes an inexhaustible source of inspiration that guides, like a lighthouse, the faithful children of the country on the path of construction, development, and achieving the demands of power and strategic progress,” he noted.
“It is therefore up to you, officer cadets, as well as the entire Algerian youth, to keep these values engraved in your hearts and present in your minds, ensuring their implementation on the ground in service of the country and its supreme interests,” he added.
“Indeed, faith in the national and republican values, which have shaped the dignity and pride of the Algerian people and allowed us to hold high the colors of our country, deserves to inhabit the hearts of our young people, but also to be expressed through their actions, their behavior and their work,” he said.
In this regard, the General also emphasized “the PNA’s concern to anchor national history in consciences and to make it one of the sources of pride and inspiration.”
“Based on this principle, we ensure within the PNA, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, that our national history remains anchored in minds, and is a source of pride and inspiration,” he said.
“In this respect, we also ensure that this historical awareness translates into concrete actions that prove that Algeria, which triumphed yesterday by liberating itself from abject colonialism, and thwarted attempts to destabilize the Republic through terrorism and violent extremism, will remain, today as tomorrow, united and triumphant over its enemies, thanks to its cohesion, its constancy and its faith in these same national and republican values,” he said.
Following this, the Academy cadets were given the opportunity to speak, “expressing their satisfaction with their training conditions and reaffirming their full commitment to fulfilling their national duty with complete awareness of the challenges ahead, in order to safeguard Algeria’s unity, security, and stability.”
During this occasion, the General also inaugurated a 400-unit housing complex for officers and personnel of the Cherchell garrison, concluded the Ministry of National Defense.
