Second Algerian-Mauritanian Security Commission Session Begins

ALGIERS — The 2nd session of the Algerian-Mauritanian security commission began Wednesday in Algiers, co-chaired by the secretary generals of both countries’ Interior ministries.

This two-day session is being held “as part of consultations and discussions on ways to strengthen security and operational coordination between the two brotherly countries, given a regional context marked by rapid geostrategic shifts, an unstable security environment and extensive foreign interference.”

The meeting comes at a time of major challenges and risks, underscoring the need to step up security coordination efforts to tackle these issues and promote border area development.
