Algeria-Venezuela : Examination of Ways to Boost Cooperation in Energy, Mines, Renewable Energy

ALGIERS – The Secretary of State to the Algerian Minister of Energy, in charge of Mines, Karima Bakir Tafer and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Energy, in charge of Renewable Energy, Noureddine Yassaâ received on Wednesday, a delegation from the Ministry of Popular Power for Hydrocarbons of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to examine opportunities to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the sector, the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy said in a press release.

The meeting took place as part of the 5th joint governmental commission on economic, commercial, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation which is held on July 2 and 3 in Algiers.

The meeting held at the ministry’s headquarters, in the presence of its executives, enabled to highlight “the depth of friendship and cooperation relations uniting Algeria and Venezuela and the common will to promote them, in application of the orientations of the leaders of the two countries,” added the press release.

In this respect, the two parties reviewed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of hydrocarbons, energy engineering, training and exchange of experiences and expertise in the oil and gas industry.

During the meeting the two parties discussed opportunities for developing cooperation in mining resource exploitation, energy transformation and renewable energy, notably concerning photovoltaic energy and clean technologies and knowledge transfer, said the same source.
