First African School Games: 44 Countries Confirm Participation

SETIF – The first African School Games will feature 44 countries and 2,456 athletes, said Tuesday, in Setif, Amar Brahmia, president of the organizing committee of these games that Algeria will host from 26 July to 5 August, 2025.
The number of participating athletes and countries in this first edition “may still increase, as the registration platform remains open until early July,” Brahmia added during a press conference held with Setif’s governor, Mustapha Limani.
This marks the organizing committee’s fifth visit to Setif province to enquire about the readiness of sports facilities and accommodation and catering structures that will host the participating delegations.
Amar Brahmia added that the sports and catering infrastructures of Setif, such as the facilities of the National School of Olympic Sports (Olympic pool and multipurpose halls), those of the Ain Arnat sports complex and the multipurpose and catering halls of the University of Setif-1, which will host part of these games, are “100% ready.”
