Algerian-Pakistani forum: opportunities for strengthening economic partnership examined

ALGIERS – The prospects for strengthening commercial exchanges and economic cooperation between Algerian and Pakistani operators were at the center of the bilateral Algerian-Pakistani forum, organized Wednesday in Algiers by the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), on the sidelines of the 56th Algiers International Fair (FIA 2025), at the Exhibition Palace (SAFEX).
The meeting brought together 66 Algerian operators and 15 Pakistani ones, in the presence of the president of CACI, Kamel Hamenni, and the ambassador of Pakistan to Algiers, Khalid Hussain Khan.
The exchanges focused on investment opportunities in various sectors, notably agriculture, agro-food, industry and technologies.
Speaking on this occasion, the president of CACI discussed the logistical assets of Algeria, notably as part of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the Arab Free Trade Zone, likely to facilitate access to African markets.
For his part, Ambassador Khalid Hussain Khan highlighted the potential for economic cooperation between the two countries and underscored the objective of bringing the volume of bilateral exchanges to one billion dollars in the coming years, praising the business climate in Algeria, describing it as favorable to the establishment of foreign investors.
As part of the Pakistani strategy “Look to Africa,” the ambassador announced the holding, in Algeria, of the 6th Pakistan-Africa Trade Development Conference in 2026, emphasizing the growing importance accorded by Pakistani companies to the African market.
