World Artistic Gymnastics Cup: Algerian Kaylia Nemour Takes Gold on Uneven Bars

Algerian gymnast Kaylia Nemour snagged the gold medal in the uneven bars competition on Thursday at the Tashkent stage of the World Artistic Gymnastics Cup, running from June 18 to 21, 2025. This exciting win was reported by the specialized site Spot Gym on Friday.
The reigning Olympic champion from the Paris 2024 Games shone in the final, scoring an impressive 14.700 points. Earlier, she had wowed the crowd with a score of 15.100 during the qualification round.
South Africa’s Neveen Natascha Daries took home the silver medal with a score of 12.500, while Croatia’s Sofia Wester also earned a bronze with the same score.
Looking ahead, Kaylia will compete in the beam final on Saturday after securing the top spot in qualifications with a solid score of 14.650 points.
The Tashkent World Cup is a key event in the international artistic gymnastics calendar, organized by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). It provides a fantastic platform for elite gymnasts to showcase their skills and qualify for global competitions.
In May, the talented 18-year-old made a big move by joining a new club and teaming up with a new coach to gear up for the upcoming Olympic cycle leading to the Los Angeles 2028 Games. Her new coach, Nadia Massé, is a well-known figure in the French gymnastics scene and was officially introduced by the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee (COA).
The COA has expressed its unwavering support for Kaylia as she embarks on this new journey, aiming for success at the next Olympic Games.
