Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025: Algeria Secures First Place in Maghreb

ALGIERS – Algeria has secured first place at the Maghreb and African levels, with 53 universities, in the global Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025, according to a statement released on Thursday by the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Algerian higher education institutions have taken first place in the Maghreb in terms of the number of universities featured in the global Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025, with 53 Algerian universities ranked, representing the highest number at both the Maghreb and African levels, the same source added.
In this ranking of the 400 best world universities, the University of El-Oued occupied first place at the national level, followed by the universities of Khenchela and Oum El-Bouaghi, then that of M’sila in third place. The University of Souk-Ahras achieves, for the first time, fourth place at the national level.
