Iran Leaves Door Open to NPT Withdrawal Amid Escalating Tensions with Zionist Entity

Iran said Monday that any decision regarding a possible withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) will be made by relevant authorities, amid growing regional tensions and international scrutiny over its nuclear program.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei, responding to questions on the issue, stated that such a step is subject to high-level review. He reaffirmed Iran’s stance against weapons of mass destruction, citing religious principles that prohibit the development or use of nuclear arms.
This follows recent denials from the Iranian parliament, which dismissed reports that it was preparing resolutions to exit the treaty. The statements come days after the UN nuclear watchdog accused Iran of breaching its obligations for the first time in two decades.
The developments occur in the wake of Zionist airstrikes targeting Iranian military and nuclear sites on Friday, triggering Iranian retaliatory missile strikes. Tehran reported over 224 deaths and more than 1,000 injuries from the Zionist assault, while the Zionist entity claimed 24 fatalities and hundreds wounded in Iran’s response.
