UN Slams U.S.-Backed GHF Aid Model in Gaza as a ‘Humanitarian Failure’

The United Nations harshly criticized the operations of the GHF foundation, backed by the Zionist entity and the United States, for failing to meet basic humanitarian standards in Gaza. The aid distribution, often conducted in chaotic conditions, has been deemed a failure by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

“It’s fair to say this is a failure from a humanitarian principles perspective. They are not doing what a humanitarian operation should do, which is to provide assistance where people are,” said OCHA spokesperson Jens Laerke during a press briefing in Geneva on Friday.

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) had already voiced strong criticism last week, stating that the “American-Zionist” aid model in Gaza “rather encourages the death of people” instead of saving lives. UNRWA stressed that the only safe and large-scale method of aid delivery in Gaza is through the United Nations and its agencies, including UNRWA.

Juliette Touma, UNRWA’s spokesperson, reiterated this concern on Thursday via social media, describing the alternative aid delivery model as “deeply humiliating and largely based on rumors, creating anxiety among desperate people.”
