
The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, met on Wednesday in Brussels with Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. This meeting occurred on the sidelines of his participation in the third European Union – African Union Ministerial Meeting, as stated in a ministry release.
The discussions provided an opportunity for both parties to review various aspects of cooperation and coordination between Algeria and the European Union (EU), with the goal of revitalizing the institutional mechanisms that underpin the Algerian-European partnership, according to the statement.
Furthermore, they addressed the revision of the association agreement between Algeria and the European Union, which aims to achieve a balanced partnership, particularly concerning its economic dimensions, as noted by the same source.
On this occasion, both sides exchanged views and analyses on several pressing issues, notably the developments in Libya and the broader tensions in the Sahel region, the ministry’s statement added.
