
ALGIERS – The Speaker of the Algerian People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament), Brahim Boughali, held talks on Thursday, in Jakarta, with his Ivorian counterpart, Adama Bictogo, on the sidelines of the 19th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC), the Lower House said in a press release.
The talks between the two parties focused on several issues, including “relations between the two countries and ways to promote them, particularly at the parliamentary level,” added the same source.
During the meeting the two parties “addressed issues concerning the Muslim nation in light of the multiple challenges it faces, particularly regarding the Palestinian cause,” said the press release.
The two parties also discussed the general situation at the level of the PUIC and African bodies, as well as ways to energize their action and enable them to respond to the aspirations of the peoples they represent and face the challenges of the hour, concluded the press release.
