
ORAN – The International Conference on green solutions in oil, gas industry kicked off on Wednesday, in Oran, with the participation of experts from 12 countries, who will present more than 90 papers on various topics related to new solutions and technologies in the field of oil and gas.
The opening of this scientific meeting, organized by the General Directorate of Scientific Research and Technological Development in partnership with the Central Directorate of Research and Development of Sonatrach, was chaired by Fodil Cherif, representative of this latter directorate.
His address focused on energy transition and the role of fossil fuels in the context of current evolutions and changes at the international level.
Cherif emphasized that the global energy transition must be progressive, but continuous, planned, coordinated, and involving the cooperation of governments, businesses, and citizens.
For his part, Kaddari Abdelmoumen, from the University of Souk Ahras and member of the organizing committee, underscored that this International Conference is the result of three years of research on green solutions in the oil and gas industry, in collaboration with researchers and experts from 12 countries.
The conferences include five main axes, namely the research project on green inhibitors in the oil and gas sector, carbon sector pathways, innovative biofuel technologies, sustainable biomass supply and associated value chains, and sustainable water treatment to improve oil recovery, as well as the legislative and regulatory aspect related to policies and financing of research projects.
