Drone Strikes Target Port-Sudan for Sixth Consecutive Day

Drone strikes have targeted Port-Sudan, the provisional seat of government in eastern Sudan, for the sixth consecutive day, according to a military source who attributed the attacks to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which are currently engaged in conflict with the national army.
“Our air defense systems intercepted several enemy drones aiming at facilities and sites within the city,” the source reported.
Witnesses indicated that strikes occurred in the northern, western, and southern areas of the city, which serves as a vital hub for humanitarian aid in this East African nation grappling with widespread famine.
Since Sunday, Port-Sudan, situated along the Red Sea, has experienced daily drone attacks that have damaged numerous strategic locations, including the country’s last operational civil airport, a military base, an electricity station, and fuel depots.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and has displaced or forced approximately 13 million people to flee abroad.
