Algeria-Slovenia: Signing of a MoU in Higher Education and Science

A memorandum of understanding was signed on Thursday in Algiers between Algeria and Slovenia to enhance collaboration in the fields of higher education and science.
The agreement was signed by Abdelhakim Bentellis, Secretary General of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, representing Algeria, and Igor Papic, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, representing Slovenia.
Following the signing ceremony at the ministry’s headquarters, which was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Algeria, Bentellis highlighted that the memorandum encompasses several areas, including technology and artificial intelligence.
He noted that the sector minister, Kamel Baddari, had met with his Slovenian counterpart on Wednesday to discuss strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise in these domains. They also emphasized promoting student and researcher mobility between the two countries to foster collaboration in higher education, scientific research, and innovation.
In turn, the Slovenian minister expressed his country’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Algeria across various sectors. He underscored that the signing of this memorandum represents a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral ties in scientific research and related disciplines, paving the way for further initiatives, particularly the expansion of partnerships between Slovenian and Algerian universities.
