Algerian FM Meets with His Egyptian Counterpart

The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, welcomed his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdel-Atty, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, during an official visit to Algeria. This meeting took place at the ministry’s headquarters on Thursday, as stated in an official announcement.

The discussions provided an opportunity to “review the various aspects and dimensions of the fraternal and cooperative relations between the two countries, as well as to explore ways to further strengthen these ties in light of upcoming events, particularly those concerning the Algerian-Egyptian Joint High Commission.”

Additionally, the two ministers addressed “a range of pressing issues affecting their regional neighborhood, particularly the existential threats facing the Palestinian cause, developments in the brotherly state of Libya, and the crises impacting several Arab nations,” according to the ministry’s statement.

In this context, both ministers underscored “the necessity of reinforcing the traditions of consultation and coordination between the two brotherly countries within their shared Arab and African contexts,” the statement concluded.
