Somalia: 12 Al-Shabaab Terrorists Eliminated

Somali forces conducted airstrikes on Wednesday evening targeting an area previously attacked by Al-Shabaab terrorists, resulting in the elimination of 12 militants, as announced by the Somali government on Thursday.
“The Somali National Army executed a precise airstrike in Adan Yabaal,” with support from the U.S. Africa Command (Africom), stated the Somali Ministry of Information.
Adan Yabaal, which is home to a government military center, had reportedly been seized by Al-Shabaab on Wednesday, according to a military official and local residents.
The overnight airstrike led to the deaths of 12 Al-Shabaab terrorists, and “no civilian casualties have been reported,” the Somali government confirmed in a statement released on social media. “Operations are ongoing to ensure lasting security,” it added.
According to various sources, senior Somali officials were directing the campaign against Al-Shabaab from the district that was targeted on Wednesday, concentrating on the regions of Middle Shabelle and Hiiraan, which surround the capital, Mogadishu.
