UN Warns Gaza on the Brink of Famine as Aid Runs Out

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has issued a stark warning that Gaza is nearing famine due to severe shortages of food supplies.
UNRWA spokesperson Adnan Abu Hasna told Novosti News Agency that the agency’s food warehouses are now empty. “We are facing a real famine that could affect 2.3 million Palestinians across Gaza,” he said, adding that the situation is the most dire since the start of the war in October 2023.
Abu Hasna described worsening humanitarian conditions, including sky-high food prices and destroyed water and sanitation infrastructure. He stressed that the only solution is the immediate reopening of border crossings to allow the entry of food and medical aid, which has been blocked since March 2.
