Gaza Children Devastated as Zionist Blockade Enters Sixth Week

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned on Wednesday that children in Gaza are enduring devastating conditions as the Zionist entity continues to block aid and commercial supplies from entering the Strip for the sixth consecutive week.
In a post on X accompanied by a photo of two children pulling a cart filled with water containers, UNRWA highlighted the dire humanitarian situation, stating that since March 2, the Zionist entity has barred the entry of essential supplies — including food, water, and nutrition — following the closure of Gaza’s crossings. This, the agency said, has triggered a humanitarian catastrophe and worsened famine and thirst across the enclave.
“In northern Gaza, children are not looking for their toys or pens, but for water. They are not going to school, but pushing carts in search of something to quench their thirst,” UNRWA said.
The agency stressed that ongoing Zionist blockade has caused a severe shortage of clean water, food, shelter, and medical care, and has had a “devastating” impact on Gaza’s children. The water crisis has deepened further due to the suspension of supply from the Zionist company Mekorot to Gaza City, which previously accounted for 70% of its total water supply.
UNRWA concluded by calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
