Algeria and Italy Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations Ahead of Upcoming Summit

ALGIERS – The Algerian secretary of State to the ministry of Foreign Affairs for National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, received Tuesday in Algiers Fabrizio Saggio, the Italian prime minister’s diplomatic advisor, who is on a working visit to Algeria, the ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs said in a statement.
During the meeting, the two sides tackled “the state of bilateral relations and their development prospects ahead of the forthcoming bilateral events, including the fifth inter-governmental summit between the two countries, to be held in the next months under the chairmanship of the Algerian president, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, “the statement said.
The meeting was also an opportunity “to consider cooperation projects and the ways to extend them to various areas of common interest.”
