China Successfully Launches New Satellite

China successfully launched a new satellite on Thursday from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province. The satellite, Tianping-3A 02, was lifted into space at 10:12 AM Beijing time aboard a Long March-6 carrier rocket and has successfully reached its designated orbit.

This satellite will primarily be used for calibrating ground radar equipment and measuring radar cross-section (RCS). It will support imaging experiments for optical ground equipment and conduct tests for monitoring the space environment in low Earth orbit. Additionally, it will provide atmospheric space environment measurement services and assist in correcting orbital forecasting models.

This launch marks the 568th flight mission in the Long March rocket series.
