Germany Condemns the Zionist Entity for Killing Journalists in Gaza Amid Escalating Aggression

Germany on Wednesday criticized the Zionist entity over the killing of journalists in the Gaza Strip, stressing that freedom of the press must be protected. German Foreign Ministry spokesman Christian Wagner condemned attacks on journalists, stating that they “must never become targets in Gaza” and calling for urgent changes to the catastrophic situation. He urged the Zionist entity and all negotiating parties to immediately restore the ceasefire and seek a political solution.
The condemnation follows the Zionist entity’s killing of Al Jazeera Mubasher correspondent Hussam Shabat in an airstrike on his vehicle in northern Gaza on Monday. The same attack also claimed the lives of four civilians and injured others. Earlier that day, Zionist forces targeted a house in Khan Younis, killing Mohammad Mansour, a reporter for Palestine Today TV. These killings occurred amid renewed Zionist assault on Gaza following its unilateral decision to end the ceasefire on March 18, leading to a wave of deadly airstrikes.
Since the escalation began in October 2023, the Zionist military campaign has killed 50,183 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 113,828 others. At least 10,000 people remain missing under the rubble. The ongoing aggression has forcibly displaced nearly two million people, with most seeking refuge in the overcrowded southern city of Rafah. The humanitarian crisis continues to worsen under the Zionist entity’s blockade, which has restricted medical and humanitarian aid from entering the besieged enclave.
