Lavrov: US-Russia Ties Must Serve Mutual Benefit in a Multipolar World

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that while the US and Russia will never fully share national interests, any alignment should be used to develop practical solutions that benefit both sides. Speaking with Mario Nawfal, Andrew Napolitano, and Larry Johnson, Lavrov stressed the importance of dialogue over confrontation, particularly among nuclear powers.
He likened diplomatic negotiations to the pragmatism seen in Hollywood cowboy films, arguing that major global players must engage in serious discussions rather than escalating tensions. Lavrov also highlighted fundamental differences between Moscow and Washington on the concept of multipolarity, pointing out that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s stance fails to acknowledge key international actors.
“How can you talk about multipolarity while ignoring global giants like China and India, or entire continents such as Africa and Latin America?” Lavrov questioned, reaffirming Russia’s view that a truly multipolar world must include all significant geopolitical forces.
