Polish PM Rejects Trump’s Claim That EU Was Formed to ‘Screw’ U.S.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that the European Union was created to harm the United States, asserting that the bloc was founded on principles of peace, respect, and fair trade. In a statement on X, Tusk emphasized that the EU was established to strengthen transatlantic ties, not to undermine them.

Trump, in a speech on Wednesday, accused the EU of exploiting the U.S. and vowed to impose 25% tariffs on its exports “very soon.” His remarks echo past criticisms of European trade policies, which he has frequently framed as unfair to American interests.
