Jordan Exempts Syrian Trucks from Fees Amid Strengthening Ties

The Jordanian government announced on Wednesday its decision to exempt Syrian trucks from entry and service fees, marking a step forward in improving relations between the two neighboring countries. The decision aligns with efforts to standardize fees for Jordanian and Syrian trucks under the principle of reciprocity.

According to Jordan’s state news agency Petra, the move is part of broader government initiatives to facilitate increasing trade and transport between the two nations.

Earlier this month, Syria’s General Authority for Land and Sea Ports had also exempted Jordanian trucks from all fees, reinforcing the economic cooperation between Amman and Damascus.

The exemption comes as Syria’s new government focuses on economic development.
