Lavrov : Russia Dismisses European Peacekeeper Deployment in Ukraine

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia is not considering any options for the deployment of European peacekeepers in Ukraine, nor has anyone approached Moscow regarding such a move.

Regarding the Ukraine conflict, Lavrov affirmed that Russia is not obstructing negotiations, criticized the EU’s stance as a failure, and asserted that Europe’s push for peacekeepers in Ukraine is merely a strategy to rearm Kiev.

On Middle East tensions, Lavrov emphasized Russia’s commitment to lifting sanctions against Syria without conditions and noted Syria’s leadership seeks normalization without foreign interference. He warned that displacing Palestinians instead of pursuing a two-state solution would be a “time bomb” and called for constructive solutions to Zionist presence in southern Lebanon and Syria that uphold regional security.
