Lebanon: 23 Bodies Found Under Rubble After Zionist Forces’ Withdrawal

KFAR KILA (Lebanon), February 19, 2025 – Lebanese Civil Defense officials reported the discovery of 23 bodies on Tuesday beneath the debris in several devastated villages in southern Lebanon, coinciding with the withdrawal of Zionist forces from much of the region.

“Twenty-three bodies were found under the rubble in the villages of Kfar Kila, Mays al-Jabal, Odaisseh, and Markaba,” the Civil Defense stated. They noted that in Kfar Kila, located along the front line, almost no buildings remain intact.

“Rescue workers recovered several bodies from the debris and even found two individuals still alive,” the statement continued.

Ali Hassan Khalil, a senior Lebanese political figure from the region, mentioned that hundreds of residents have gone to inspect more than half a dozen now-accessible villages. He added that the Lebanese army continues its efforts to clear the roads. However, he lamented that the ongoing occupation by Zionist forces has left “an open wound.”
