Algerian FM Received in Maputo by Mozambique President

Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, was welcomed on Tuesday in Maputo by the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Francisco Chapo, during his official visit to this friendly nation, as noted in a communiqué from the ministry.

During their meeting, “Mr. Attaf extended greetings from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to President Daniel Francisco Chapo and offered his heartfelt congratulations on his election as the country’s president, wishing him success in fulfilling his important responsibilities,” the statement indicated.

The minister also informed the President of Mozambique about “President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s commitment to collaborate with him to further strengthen the historical ties of friendship and solidarity between the two nations, with the goal of promoting bilateral cooperation on broader fronts,” the source added.

This meeting served as an opportunity to “discuss various aspects and dimensions of the privileged relations between Algeria and Mozambique, as well as to explore avenues for sustaining the positive momentum characterizing these relations, in accordance with the strong commitment of both leaders to enhance bilateral cooperation across all sectors and to intensify joint coordination at various levels,” the communiqué concluded.
