Ahmed Attaf reiterates Algeria’s readiness to continue supporting Lebanon

ALGIERS – Algerian Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held a phone talk on Sunday with Lebanese Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Minister Attaf received a phone call from PM Salam, following his official visit to Beirut as a special envoy of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

During the call, the two officials addressed the situation in southern Lebanon, particularly the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Lebanese territory, the statement said.

Minister Attaf reiterated Algeria’s full solidarity with Lebanon in the face of ongoing violations of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also emphasised Algeria’s readiness to continue its support for Lebanon, especially through its position in the United Nations Security Council.
