Turkey and Indonesia to Cooperate in Rebuilding Gaza, Erdogan Says

Turkey will continue working with Indonesia to aid in the reconstruction of Gaza following over 15 months of Zionist aggression, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Wednesday. Speaking at a joint press conference with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Erdogan commended Jakarta’s unwavering support for Palestine and reaffirmed Ankara’s commitment to rebuilding efforts.

He also reiterated his call for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, emphasizing that regional stability depends on achieving lasting peace for Gaza and the Palestinian people.

Highlighting the devastation caused by Zionist military actions, Erdogan estimated the total damage at nearly $100 billion and insisted that, based on legal principles, the perpetrator should be held accountable for reparations.

He stressed that delaying the creation of a Palestinian state is no longer an option, as continued instability in the region affects broader geopolitical security. Turkey and Indonesia’s joint efforts reflect a growing international push to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza through reconstruction and diplomatic pressure.

Beyond the Palestinian issue, Erdogan and Subianto discussed strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in trade and economic cooperation. The leaders set a goal of expanding trade between Turkey and Indonesia to $10 billion, aiming for a balanced and mutually beneficial exchange. This strategic partnership signals deepening economic and political collaboration between the two nations as they seek to play a more active role in regional and global affairs.
