Tebboune Orders 24/7 Operations in Algerian Ports to Boost Economic Activity

ALGIERS – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has directed the immediate transition to a 24/7 working system in Algeria’s ports, emphasizing those with high economic activity. The decision, announced during a Council of Ministers meeting on Sunday, aims to enhance logistical efficiency and support trade flows by ensuring continuous operations. This move aligns with the government’s broader efforts to optimize port infrastructure and reduce delays affecting imports and exports.

The shift to round-the-clock port operations is expected to improve supply chain management and attract greater investment in the maritime sector. By the end of this month, ports with major economic significance must implement the new system, reinforcing Algeria’s commitment to economic modernization.
