ALGIERS, January 29, 2025 – Sheikh Akrama Sabri, the Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, conveyed a heartfelt message of gratitude to the Algerian people on Wednesday. In his message, he expressed his sincere appreciation to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for his principled and unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
During his visit to Algeria, at the invitation of the High Islamic Council (HCI), the Imam articulated his “deep gratitude towards Algeria, a brotherly nation revered by all Palestinians.” He praised the warm welcome he received, which he described as a reflection of “the values of solidarity and brotherhood between the Algerian and Palestinian peoples.”
The Imam particularly highlighted President Tebboune’s commendable and resolute positions regarding Palestine and Al-Quds. He also acknowledged the pioneering efforts of the HCI, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Djamaa El-Djazaïr, and Algerian scholars in advancing the causes of the Islamic Ummah and advocating for justice on a global scale.
