Zelensky Accuses Putin of Prolonging War to Avoid Negotiations and Maintain Instability

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of deliberately prolonging the war in Ukraine to avoid negotiations and keep the region unstable.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Zelenskyy stated, “Today, Putin once again confirmed that he is afraid of negotiations, afraid of strong leaders, and does everything possible to prolong the war. Every move he makes and all his cynical tricks are aimed at making the war endless.” He emphasized that, although there is an opportunity to achieve lasting peace, Putin is either pushing for continued large-scale attacks or seeking a temporary pause to prepare for further aggression.

Zelenskyy urged global leaders to learn from past mistakes, warning that Putin remains a significant threat to global stability. He asserted that Putin lacks the resolve to withstand pressure from strong leadership, adding that the path to true peace lies in forcing Russia into it through decisive and united action from those committed to peace.
