Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was sworn in on Friday at the National Assembly in Caracas for a third six-year term. “I swear… this new presidential term will be one of peace,” he stated before Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez, who then declared, “You are now invested as the constitutional president.” The National Electoral Council (CNE) announced that Maduro won the election with 52% of the vote. During his campaign, President Maduro promised to improve the economic situation and implement measures to restore growth.
