
Bakhta Selma Mansouri, Algerian Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for African Affairs, held a bilateral meeting on Wednesday with John Mulimba, Uganda’s Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of regional cooperation. This meeting occurred as part of their participation in the Extraordinary Summit of the African Union (AU) on the Comprehensive African Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), scheduled for January 9-11, 2025, in Kampala.
According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, “In addition to discussing joint cooperation between Algeria and Uganda, this meeting focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and establish new partnerships that serve the mutual interests of both countries.”
The meeting also offered a platform to address key African issues, including developments in the security situation across the continent, enhancing continental complementarity, and reforming AU institutions.
During this occasion, Mansouri reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to enhance cooperation with fellow African nations, underscoring Algeria’s dedication to supporting African solidarity and promoting sustainable development and stability across the continent.
