Algeria Reappointed to UN Peacebuilding Commission for Second Consecutive Year

NEW YORK (United Nations) – Algeria has been reappointed as a member of the Peacebuilding Commission for a second consecutive year under its mandate as a non-permanent member of the United Nations (UN) Security Council.

This decision testifies to international recognition of Algeria’s commitment to world peace and stability.

It also represents a vote of confidence in Algeria, whose constructive contribution to the Peacebuilding Commission (PBC) work in 2024 has been applauded by many delegations.

This reappointment comes at a pivotal moment, marked by the peacebuilding body’s five-year review, scheduled for 2025.
